Heroes of Ruin Will Team Up In Early 2012, See The First Screenshots

Square Enix have upcoming Nintendo 3DS co-op adventure, Heroes of Ruin, planned for an early 2012 release. They made the announcement today on the game’s teaser site, which will expand into a full site in June.

 

As reported previously, Heroes of Ruin is being developed by n-Space, who have made a name for themselves developing the Nintendo DS versions of the Call of Duty games. It will focus on online co-op play, and will include voice chat and downloadable content. You’ll get to pick from a selection of four characters and upgrade them along the way.

 

In addition to this, Heroes of Ruin will use the 3DS’ StreetPass feature to create an in-game ‘Traders’ Network’ where players can buy and sell rare items picked up in battle. Square Enix say the game has “dynamic environments,” and that you’ll discover new layouts and routes each time you play.

 

Interestingly, Heroes of Ruin is being overseen not by Square Enix’s Japanese division, but by their London studio. n-Space also released the first screenshots of the game today:
