How to Complete Alchemy Requests in Moonstone Island

In Moonstone Island, Alchemy Requests are a series of quests designed to introduce you to the various forms of alchemy within the game. Each of these requests ask you to use your new alchemical knowledge to make specific concoctions with each crafting table you unlock.

How to unlock the Alchemy Lab in Moonstone Island

The first Alchemy Request is called Pater Wrongarium, and it’s a simple one. You need to place a Concoction into your Sell Crate.

At this stage you are unable to make your own Concoctions, so you’ll need to find one. These can sometimes be found in chests as you complete dungeons, search mines,, or uncover buried treasure. It’s not a guarantee that you’ll find one in every chest, but they do appear from time to time, so you’ll just need to keep exploring until one shows up.

Once you’ve found one, simply return to your Sell Crate and drop it in. The next day you’ll receive the Alchemy Lab recipe. After a few more days, the next request will come in.

How to unlock the Cauldron in Moonstone Island

The second of the Alchemy Requests in Moonstone Island is Maustrap Alchemii. It’s designed to teach you how to use your new Alchemy Lab to make Concoctions of your own. To build an Alchemy Lab, you’ll need 1 Wood, 3 Copper Ingots, 3 Iron Ingots, and 1 Clay.

All Concoctions are made with two crops, Ash, and a Glass Bottle. Ash is made by burning Wood in your Furnace. Glass Bottles are made from the crafting menu using a Sea Glass Spirit Resource.

The Alchemy Request wants you to make a Concoction that provides +20 Tame and -1 Vitality, with any Stamina value. Since you’re likely to receive this quest in Summer, the best combination of crops I found for this request was a Pinwheel Flower and an Umbrellashroom. Both are Summer crops. You’ll find the Pinwheel Flower on Grass or Water islands and the Umbrellashroom on Poison islands.

Place the Pinwheel Flower, Umbrellashrom, Ash, and Glass Bottle into your Alchemy Lab, and it will begin cooking. After some in-game time passed, you can return to the Lab and retrieve your new Concoction that meets the requirements.

Like the previous quest, you need to place this Concoction into your Sell Crate and the next day you’ll get the Cauldron recipe.

How to unlock the Compost Bin in Moonstone Island

The next Alchemy Request, Birthdaeus Giftarium, will teach you how to use your Cauldron. This costs 1 Moonstone Ingot, 2 Iron Ingots, and 1 Poison to make.

For this request, you need to make an Abundance Potion. Initially, the recipe may not be available. In order to unlock it, you need to find recipes from chests or by purchasing a daily recipe from Paolo. Both methods are entirely random and will also include the many recipes for the Decoration Station, so this may take a while to unlock.

Once you do unlock the recipe, you just need to go to the Cauldron and select it from the menu with the right materials. For this you’ll need 1 Wood, 1 Clay, and 1 Glass Bottle.

As always, deliver it to the Sell Crate and you’ll unlock the Compost Bin recipe.

How to complete the final Alchemy Request in Moonstone Island

The last of the Alchemy Requests in Moonstone Island is called Provepapa Wrongorum and requires you to make another Concoction. This Concoction needs +12 Power with no other stats besides Stamina.

A quick glance at most of the game’s crops suggests that this is an impossible task. The highest any crop goes up to is +5, and you can only use two crops while making a Concoction. However, just like the previous requests, this is training you to use the most recent crafting table. You need to make a Compost Bin, which requires 10 Wood and 4 Ash to craft.

The Compost Bin allows you to make Fertilizer, which can enhance the stats of the crops you grow. One of these is the Power Fertilizer, which adds two points to the Power stat of any crop. Make a couple of these with Ash and the Fireball Spirit Resource. You can also buy Fertilizer from Rowan.

The ideal crop for this is the Electricone. While it has a +4 Power stat, any grown using the Power Fertilizer will have this increased to +6, meaning two of them give you the +12 you need. These can be found on Electric islands during Fall, but you will need to use your scythe to collect their seeds, not harvest them normally. If you sell one set of seeds to Ofelia or Gaiana, you will be able to buy more from Rowan’s shop too.

Plant two Electricones on a patch of land, or in your Greenhouse if it’s not Fall, then apply the Power Fertilizer to their spots in the same way you plant seeds. After a few days of watering, harvest the Electricones then combine them in the Alchemy Lab like you did with the previous Concoction. Place the result in the Sell Crate and you will complete the final request. Your reward will be the recipe for a Luck Potion.

Moonstone Island is available now for PC. A Switch version is in development.
