How to Evolve Bisharp into Kingambit in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Evolving some Pokemon is more frustrating than others. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, evolving Bisharp into Kingambit qualifies. It involves catching a certain sort of Bisharp in the wild, sending it into certain battles, and only then getting the new evolution.

You’ll want to have a party of characters around level 47-55. This is because you head into a high-level area to find the Bisharp you need. You want to head to the North Province (Area Two) Pokemon Center. That is the one near the Team Star Fighting Crew Base. Just south of the Pokemon Center is a bamboo forest. There, you’ll occasionally see Bisharps with a cluster of Pawniards around. You’ll want to fight and catch one of those Bisharps. (They tend to appear at level 52-53.)

Okay, here’s the second part. It’s more tedious than difficult, at this point. You need to send the Bisharp you caught into fights with other Bisharps surrounded by Pawniards while it is holding the Leader’s Crest to meet the requirements to evolve it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. That specific Pokemon needs to face and defeat three other Bisharp that would be considered “leaders.” If you do that, then the next time it levels up, it will evolve into Kingambit.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch. In case you’re looking for insight into evolving other tricky Pokemon, here’s how to evolve Charcadet.
