After catching Kubfu in the Indigo Disk DLC, you will need to find a special item to evolve it into Urshifu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Here is how to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu in Pokemon Indigo Disk and how to obtain its Rapid-Strike and Single-Strike forms.
How to evolve Urshifu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
To evolve Kubfu into Urshifu in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC, you must obtain the Scroll of Darkness and Scroll of Waters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, getting the evolution items is easier said than done.
In the Isle of Armor DLC, you originally evolved Kubfu by going to either the Tower of Waters or the Tower of Darkness. In the Indigo Disk expansion, you need to head back to the Porto Miranda auction in the Paldea Region.
Below are the steps on how to evolve Urshifu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:
- After finding Kubfu in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC, head to the Porto Marina fast travel point in West Province (Area Two) in Paldea to purchase the Scroll of Darkness or Scroll of Waters.
- Once here, walk to the auction house and look for the vendor who sells evolution items.
- If the auction house is not currently selling the Scroll of Darkness or Scroll of Waters, you will need to reset your console’s date or time and close your game.
- Once the Porto Marina auction has the Scroll of Darkness or Scroll of Waters, purchase them.
- Open your bag menu with the X button on your controller, and click the Key Items tab.
- Select either Scroll of Darkness or Scroll of Waters and use the item on your Kubfu to evolve it into Urshifu.
- The Scroll of Darkness evolves Kubfu into Urshifu Single Strike Style. The Scroll of Waters evolves Kubfu into Urshifu Rapid Strike Style.
Where to get Scroll of Darkness and Scroll of Waters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Scroll of Darkness and Scroll of Waters can be purchased at the Porto Marina auction house in West Province (Area Two) Paldea region. So after you catch Kubfu in Pokemon Indigo Disk, you need to head back to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet base game and warp to the Porto Marina fast-travel point.
After equipping Kubfu in your team, walk to the auction house and speak to the evolution item vendor. You will know she has the evolution Scrolls because she will list them in the yellow speech bubble above her head.
If she doesn’t have The Scroll of Darkness or Scroll of Waters, you must reset your console’s date and time to refresh the auction house. Below are the steps on how to refresh the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet auction house:
- Save your game, and then close it.
- Press the Home Button on your Nintendo Switch to get to the main menu.
- Head to the System Settings tab at the bottom of your home screen.
- While on the System Settings page, scroll to the bottom System tab and select Date and Time.
- Turn off Synchronize Clock via the Internet and then change the day on your Date and Time option.
- Boot up Pokemon Scarlet and Violet again, and recheck the Porto Marina auction.
