How to Get a Fence Recipe and Build It in Atelier Yumia

When exploring the vast land in Atelier Yumia, you will find plenty of individuals needing help. Whenever you lend a helping hand to one of the region’s citizens, they will reward you with a gift. In one of the side-quests called “Pest Control 2”, you will be asked to place down a fence on the field to stop the pesky beavers from causing havoc on the fields. But to get a fence, you must obtain its recipe, which is done by opening up a specific treasure trove.

How Do I Start the Pest Control 2 Quest in Atelier Yumia?

The first step is to complete the “Pest Control” quest, which should become available once you have unlocked 10% of the pioneering effort. For this quest, the field owner will ask you to take care of some beavers who have been messing up the fields. These annoying beavers can be found lurking northwest of the fields.

The second version of this quest, “Pest Control 2”, will appear on the map after the party encounters the monster that Isla and Viktor recognise from their past. Return to where you first met the field owner. He will then inform you that the beaver’s leader has raised its ugly tail and asks if the team could take them out. But he also requests that you assemble a fence around the field to keep them away moving forward. Like previously, you can find the boss beaver northwest of the fields. However, for the fence, you will need to find the recipe first and then create it.

How Do I Get the Fence Recipe in Atelier Yumia?

Luckily, the treasure trove that harbours the recipe for the fence is easy to find as it sits right outside the fallen tower. You should have a treasure trove key from opening one of the chests in the fallen tower. However, if you have already used this treasure trove key, you will need to obtain another one, which you should be able to find by opening up chests in the open world.

Use one of the keys to open the treasure trove. The blue chest on the left will have the fence recipe. If you are unsure where to find it, here is a screenshot of the location on the map.

How Do I Make a Fence in Atelier Yumia?

Now that you’ve obtained the recipe for the fence, you are ready to create it on a workbench. The resources needed to make the fence are as follows:

• 2 Wood
• 2 Iron

These are easy-to-obtain materials you can get outside the Atelier base. You can obtain wood by breaking tough logs and iron by picking up crystal shards. If you want to complete the “Pest Control 2” quest, head back to the location where you initially got the quest and place the fence down on the field.

To do this, press LB to bring up the shortcut wheel and then enter “Building”. From here, press X to “Open the List”, and it will show you all the items you have crafted so far. Select the fence and put it down anywhere on the field. Return to the field owner, and this will wrap up the quest. Once you have completed the task, you will earn 5 Honeyed Malum as a reward.
