Where to find Kyogre in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Kyogre is located in the North Paldean Sea, west of the Socarrat Trail. After you obtain a Kyogre Treat from Snackworth at random, the Hoenn Legendary will begin appearing in your game on the Paldea Region map.

However, Snackworth does not tell you where to find the Ruby & Sapphire Legendary, only hinting, “I was on another one of my adventures around Paldea when I spotted these odd rocks in the sea.” Thankfully, Kyogre is pretty easy to find if you know where to look!

Below is a map of the location where Kyogre spawns in Pokemon Scalet and Violet:

How to unlock Kyogre in Pokemon Indigo Disk

Before you hit the seas looking for the Legendary, you must complete a series of tasks to get the Hoenn Legendary to start appearing in Paldea. Below are the steps to get Kyogre in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:

  • Defeat the BB League Elite Four in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC.
  • Battle and defeat Kieran to become the new BB League Champion at the Blueberry Academy.
  • Go on a trip to the Great Crater of Paldea and catch Terapagos.
  • After reaching the end credits of The Indigo Disk, fast travel to the Blueberry Academy entrance.
  • Find an NPC wearing a blue suit named Snackworth and speak to him.
  • You need to get a Kyogre Treat from Snackworth. However, which Legendary you get is random. So complete 10 BBQ quests and return to him for a chance to get the Hoenn Legendary.
  • Once you get a Kyogre Treat, switch to the Paldea region map and fast-travel to the Groundbligh Shrine above Casseroya Lake.
  • Travel west until you hit the North Paldean Sea, and look for Kyogre in the ocean rocks on your map.

Is Kyogre Shiny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk?

Kyogre is Shiny-locked in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC. This means that you can not Shiny hunt Kyogre in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Unfortunately, this is also the case for all 25 of the Legendary Pokemon that Snackworth gives you in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.

As mentioned above, the Legendary Pokemon Snackworth gives you is randomized. So it might take you 10 BBQ quests or 100. I got Galar Legendary Kubfu after 10 quests and a Kyogre Treat once I’d turned in 50 quests, so you just have to keep trying. However, once you get the treat, you can find the Hoenn Legendary in the same spot every time on the Paldea map.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
