In Pokemon Pokopia, there’s a Withered Wasteland lighthouse with challenges that require finding certain items, and one of them involves asking for paper. However, since that’s a thing you’ll find after reaching the Sparkling Skylands and is tied to side quests, you might not find it unless you’re talking to other Pokemon around you.
How do I get paper in Pokemon Pokopia?
Basically, you need to get access to Snivy and Metang in the Pokemon Pokopia Sparkling Skylands to start making paper out of the wastepaper you’ll see littered around that area. That’s because the grass-type starter is linked to the character with the recycle ability.
First, you want Snivy to show up. This isn’t too difficult. You need a slide and toy blocks. By the time you reach the Sparkling Skylands, you should have the recipe for the latter. With the former, exploring the area and checking the Pokemon Center PC shop should give you either a slide you can swipe or one you get to set that up.
Here’s the official recipe screenshot for that.

Once Snivy is around, the character will want to talk to you about improving the area. That will mean making mini bookcases, which require paper. Enter it telling you about Metang and that character’s habitat. This is a bit trickier, as while the table and whiteboard elements are things you can craft, you probably don’t have any recipes for the laptop and jumbled cords. These need to be “thrifted” from the buildings on the same island as Tinkmaster.
Here’s the habitat you’ll need to build, and I took screenshots of which Sparkling Skylands island you’ll need to visit to find the laptop and jumbled cords.

Once you set that up, Metang should appear pretty swiftly. And once they do, it is as easy to get paper in Pokemon Pokopia as it is to get lumber or iron ore. Talk to the Pokemon. Hand over up to 10 pieces of wastepaper. You get two pieces of paper for each piece of wastepaper, and up to 20 can be donated at a time.

Pokemon Pokopia is available for the Switch 2.
