How to Level Up Magic in Grandia

Grandia players will need to level up their magic abilities in order to gain new ones and strengthen their combat options. The process for doing requires players to use what they already have in order to gain much better spells.

How do I level up magic in Grandia?

As well as a standard leveling mechanic, Grandia allows characters to boost individual skills through repeated use. Every attack made with a weapon of a particular type boosts that weapon skill.

This also applies to magic. Each elemental type will level up whenever a spell of that type is used. In other words, using Fire spells will level up your Fire Skill, and so on. Spells that make use of multiple elements, such as Lightning spells, will gain EXP for all elements at the same time.

A skill will level up when it gains 100 EXP, at which point the count resets. Any leftover points will be carried over to the next rotation.

What happens when I level up magic in Grandia?

It is important that you level up your magic skills throughout Grandia. When you buy magic with Mana Eggs, you only gain the base spell for that element, which is often the weakest. In order to learn new spells, you will need to level up each element.

The levels required for each spell can be found within a character’s Moves section within the menu. While unlearned spells will not feature visible names, the levels required will be listed. This will also apply to combination elements. If you want to gain Lightning spells, for instance, you’ll need to level up both Fire and Wind skills.

The spells you can learn through each level will change depending on the character. While many spells will be the same, Justin’s ultimate fire spell isn’t the same as Feena’s, for example. However, they are learned at similar levels.

The Grandia HD Collection is available now for Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
