How to Recruit Momo in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

The adorable Momo is one of the many characters for players to recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Unlike some of the other characters, Momo is a mage who works well with the other magical party members like Mellore.

How do I recruit Momo in Eiyuden Chronicle?

To get Momo onto your team in this JRPG, you first need to progress through the main story to a certain point. Though you can find Momo in Hishahn, this encounter isn’t available the first time you visit this spot. Instead, you’ll have to wait until sometime later. I didn’t notice this encounter until after visiting Athrabalt.

Momo will be in Hishahn and only join the team if you help complete the Seaside Cavern dungeon. This is pretty similar to the requirements to getting Mellore on your team much earlier in the game. The Seaside Cavern is, thankfully, close to the city, so head there and complete the pretty linear path.

How do I defeat the Kraken in Eiyuden Chronicle?

The main problem with recruiting Momo in Eiyuden Chronicle is the tough boss fight at the end of the dungeon against the Kraken. As with any boss fight, you need a good healer on your team like Francesca. Kraken has some solid attacks that can hit the whole party or a single character, and it can even paralyze your team.

Outside of healing, there are several gimmicks to keep up with. First, there is one to open the floodgates. You should do this to make a harpoon appear. It takes two turns for this gimmick to work. The first is to have someone load the harpoon and then fire it on the second turn. This is worth it for the intense damage it does to the Kraken. Every so often, Kraken will stop the lever, but you can target its tentacle to stop this. I recommend having one of your weaker back party members doing the gimmicks in this fight.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
