As well as the usual Rare monsters that appear around the new zone of Undermine, there are also four special Rares that can only be summoned by players who have joined certain cartels. You don’t need to be part of the same cartel to help out and get loot, however, so here’s How to Summon each of the Secret Undermine Cartel Rares in World of Warcraft: The War Within.
What are the Secret Undermine Cartel Rares in World of Warcraft?
Like other Rares in WoW, the Secret Undermine Cartel Rares offer better or even unique loot including crafting materials, blue and green gear, and extra reputation with each of the cartels. However, to summon them requires completing an event that can only be started by a player that is aligned with their specific cartel AND has reached level 6 renown with the Cartels of Undermine faction. This grants you the Big Game Hunter perk, and from there you will be able to initiate the event by talking with specific NPC’s around the cartel bases in Undermine. Do note that while you need to be a member of that cartel to initiate the event, you don’t need to be in there to fight or loot the Rare itself. The events are intended for groups of 5 players, but once the event is begun it will appear on the map for other players in your instance, so reinforcements shouldn’t be far.
How to Summon and Defeat M.A.G.N.O. in Undermine
If you’ve signed on with the Bilgewater Cartel for the week, you’ll be able to summon M.A.G.N.O. over at the Scrapshop in Bilgewater Flats. Go up on to the roof to find Ragzy Cashgrab and activate the event, which involves killing mobs and throwing scrap at the giant magnet until the bar reaches 100%. Then, M.A.G.N.O. will spawn and you can take it down.
How to Summon and Defeat Voltstrike the Charged in Undermine
Blackwater Cartel recruits will instead be able to summon Voltstrike the Charged over by the Marina in Undermine. You’ll need to talk to Boatwright Frankle, a goblin stood next to his red machine on the pier opposite the beach. Start the event before hopping in to the water to collect shards of charged glass, either from the aggressive eels or strewn around the lake floor. Make sure to drink from one of the Sea’s Bounty mugs placed around the marina, as these will give you water-breathing and increased swim speed. At 100%, Voltstrike the giant eel will spawn.
How to Summon and Defeat Scrapchewer in Undermine
Aligining yourself with the unscrupulous Venture Company grants you the chance to summon Scrapchewer down in the Heaps. Scrapminer Krazzik is the man you want, and he stands in the wide area with several cranes, a little north of where “The Heaps” is written on your map. Talking to him starts an event that requires you to grab batteries from the area or from nearby mobs in order to power a drill and summon the Rare.
How to Summon and Defeat Giovante in Undermine
The last of the Undermine Cartel Rares in WoW is Giovante the unfortunate test subject, who is available to those aligned with the Steamwheedle Cartel. Talk to the Noggenfogger Recall Technician just a little south of the Steamwheedle HQ to start the event, then you can contribute in a few different ways depending on which tool you pick up. Use the harpoons on floating goblins and drag them back to the ground, run over shrunken goblins while holding the dumpster, or throw vats of goo on the skeletal goblins running around. At 100% Giovante the gigantized goblin will appear and you can slay the poor unfortunate for loot.
