Hello Kitty Island Adventure is all about crafting various items to give your fellow island visitors in order to strengthen your bonds with them. You can make most of their favorite items by utilizing the various cooking stations scattered about the island. Finding and unlocking these cooking stations is vital to increasing your friendship levels, progressing through quests, and completing achievements that grant additional rewards. The Espresso Machine is particularly useful. Many of the NPCs in Island Adventure prefer the tasty drinks you can make with it. For some residents, the Espresso Machine items they like will increase their friendship more than their favorite items do! Here’s how to unlock the Hello Kitty Island Adventure Espresso Machine- and how to upgrade it for even better recipes!

How to Unlock Hello Kitty Island Adventure Espresso Machine

Like with most of the cooking stations in Island Adventure, the Espresso Machine is locked behind a quest. Sort of. The Espresso Machine in Hello Kitty’s cafe is in disrepair. However, there’s a working Espresso Machine inside the Comedy Club! The Comedy Club is in the Rainbow Reef biome of the island. Unfortunately, it’s underwater. You need to make your own Snorkel before you can reach the Comedy Club’s entrance. You can read our guide on How to Get the Snorkel in Hello Kitty Island Adventure for a quick way to get one! With Snorkel in tow, dive underwater in the Rainbow Reef, and head towards the Comedy Club. It’s a very large structure just North of the pier behind Chococat’s tent. The Espresso Machine is inside the Club. It’s behind the counter all the way to the left of the interior.

How to Upgrade Hello Kitty Island Adventure Espresso Machine

Upgrading the Espresso Machine allows you to add a second ingredient to your brews. The most effective gift items for some of the island’s NPCs are two-ingredient recipes that use the Espresso Machine. For example, both Cinnamoroll and Kuromi receive the highest amount of friendship points from the Spicy Pumpkin Latte. This item requires both a Pumpkin and a Cinna Bloom to make. Therefore, it’s important to upgrade it as soon as you can to maximize your friendship with those two. Luckily, the Espresso Machine is one of the easiest cooking stations to upgrade! Hangyodon will upgrade the Espresso Machine after reaching Friendship Level Four. The friendship points required to reach this level are fairly low, and the upgrade isn’t attached to any quests either. It becomes immediately available!

How to Fix the Hello Kitty Island Adventure Espresso Machine

Travelling to the Comedy Club in order to make coffee can become bothersome. Ideally, you want your cooking stations to be close together. The Espresso Machine in Hello Kitty’s cafe is conveniently next to the Oven- but it’s broken. To fix the Espresso Machine, you’ll need to get Hangyodon’s Friendship Level to 11, and complete the Fwishing Well quest. “Espresso Machine Repair” will then activate. This quest is fairly painless. You only need to speak to several characters, and go to a couple of locations. To begin, speak to Hello Kitty in her cafe. After exchanging dialogue with various NPCs here, she will instruct you to head to the Comedy Club to find spare parts for the machine.

Once at the Comedy Club, speak to Hangyodon, then speak to Keroppi once he shows up. You will then need to head to the Sunken Ship in Rainbow Reef, speak to Keroppi again, and find a toolbox nearby. The toolbox is on the ocean floor underneath the front of the ship. Talk to Keroppi again, and then head back to the Hello Kitty cafe. The quest will end after Chococat repairs the Espresso Machine! Congratulations, you now have a more convenient place to make your lattes!

Given that you’ll be revolving your Hello Kitty Island Adventure sessions around the Rainbow Reef area, it might be a good idea to work on unlocking the other features on the ocean floor. It may also help to know Hangyodon’s favorite gifts in order to raise his friendship level faster. Once you’ve fixed the cafe’s Espresso Machine, you won’t have much reason to visit the Comedy Club, but you should pop in once in a while. Hangyodon is great- and probably a little lonely.
