HoYoVerse took to the official social media account for its new game Nodusfall to explain details about the upcoming title and confirm there won’t be a gacha with character banners like in its other titles. It also confirmed the team will design it without difficulty barriers and opportunities to go through things solo if they prefer single-player experiences. However, didn’t mention any platforms other than PC yet.
In HoYoVerse games like Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, the majority of characters are acquired by a gacha. However, there will be a different monetization plan in effect for this one. It’s unknown if this could mean the company will make money on customization options like NetEase plans to with Ananta. But when discussing this new game, HoYoVerse said, “Rest assured, characters in Nodusfall will not be obtained through gacha pulls. Players can unlock all characters by continuing to play the game.”
As for the other elements, HoYoVerse noted Nodusfall is “centered around multiplayer co-op,” but confirmed single-player is possible as “solo players can experience the vast majority of the core content.” It didn’t mention how many people will take part in fights at once. It also mentioned the title will be designed to offer a higher challenge while still being “accessible.”
Nodusfall is in development for the PC and could appear on other platforms as well.
