Indie Fighter Air Dash Online Inspired By Super Smash Bros. Melee

Independent developer JV5 games are working on Air Dash Online, a “platform fighter” inspired by Super Smash Bros. Melee and traditional fighting games. The game is being developed for PC and uses GGPO for online multiplayer.

JV5’s name references a perfect game in Super Smash Bros. Their own game, Air Dash Online, they say is focused on “fluid and agile character movement”. Unlike most fighters, progression in Air Dash Online isn’t tied to playing by yourself, but online against other opponents. JV5 claim that the game will include smart match-making to allow players to find suitable opponents against whom they can play at their own pace.

Five playable characters have been revealed for Air Dash Online so far, each one inspired by a character from Smash Bros.:

Vaius (inspired by Ganondorf/Zangief):

Chai (inspired by Marth):

Togun (no inspirations cited):

Tesla (inspired by Captain Falcon):

Lumella (inspired by Zero Suit Samus/Dhalsim):

You can visit the website for Air Dash Online here. The developers plan to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the game in the near future.
