Epic Games and Square Enix decided the 2026 Tokyo Game Show weekend is the ideal time to bring skins of Kingdom Hearts characters like Sora to Fortnite for the first time. Things will arrive on September 17, 2026. We don’t know prices or acquisition methods for items, even though the first video does note “in-game purchase required.” However, there is initial art, a trailer, and confirmation that Sora will be accompanied by Kairi, Riku, and Roxas.
Ahead of the full reveal, Epic only teased Sora, his Keyblade, and the Kingdom Hearts heart-shaped moon in the sky. The new video highlights everyone who will also be part of the crossover in a 40 second video while Utada’s “Sanctuary” from Kingdom Hearts 2 plays. Sora fights alongside Kairi and Riku, attacking enemies in costumes designed to resemble the series’ Heartless. We then also see Roxas drop down in front of the moon and fight. The footage also confirms these depictions of the main three are based on older versions of them from the second and third installments.
Here’s that first Kingdom Hearts crossover trailer.
In case you don’t want to wait and watch, here are two screenshots I captured showing how the Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Roxas Kingdom Hearts skins will look if you get those Fortnite costumes.

As a reminder, a number of game-themed characters show up in Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Persona 5 Royal, Crash Bandicoot, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Street Fighter references showed up in that launch trailer.
Fortnite is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Windows PC, and mobile devices, and the Kingdom Hearts crossover skins of characters Sora, Kairi, Riku, and Roxas will appear starting on September 17, 2026.
