Abruptly following the Switch 2 Kingdom Hearts games announcements during the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct, Square Enix delisted the Cloud versions released for the original Switch console. It is no longer possible to buy any of the four. However, if someone does already own them, they can continue to play the games until June 9, 2027.
Square Enix didn’t mention any specific reasons explaining why it delisted the Kingdom Hearts Switch Cloud versions on its support page, other than the fact that all the titles will be coming to the Switch 2 in 2026. It did note that anyone who had already purchased these games can get a discount on the full, standard versions of the titles. This will apply to all Switch 2 versions. The new Switch release of Kingdom Hearts: HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX is also part of that offer.
The Cloud versions of these games showed up in February 2022. The following four compilations were available.
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX – Cloud Version
- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version
- Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind (DLC) Cloud Version
- Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud
Square Enix didn’t explain how deep the discount will be on the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the upcoming full digital copies of games. It did note it applies to all three and the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]. If someone owned Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud, they get a discount on all four full versions.
The first three Kingdom Hearts compilations of games will show up on the Switch 2 on October 8, 2026.
