Kingdom Hearts Switch

Kingdom Hearts Switch Cloud Versions Release in February

Nintendo Switch owners got a taste of Kingdom Hearts when Sora joined the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, but soon it’ll be time for the full meal. The previously announced Switch port of the Kingdom Hearts games will release on February 10, 2022, according to an announcement from Square Enix. The company also uploaded a Kingdom Hearts Switch trailer to promote the launch.

Though the Switch already hosts the rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, the new Switch collection adds the rest of the franchise. That consists of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix Cloud Version, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind Cloud Version. All can be purchased separately, though they’re available as a bundle called Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud.

The “cloud version” distinction is key, as all the Kingdom Hearts Switch games (other than Melody of Memory) require an internet connection to play. This means that the game will stream in on a server rather than being downloaded and installed to the Switch console’s local storage. Other Switch cloud games include Hitman 3, Control, and A Plague Tale: Innocence.

The cloud editions of the games collect the following franchise titles, along with their separate pricing on the North American Switch eShop:

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix – USD $39.99 ($31.99 launch discount)
    • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
    • Kingom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
    • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days HD Remastered Cinematics
    • Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
    • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
    • Kingom Hearts Re:Coded HD Remastered Cinematics
  • Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue – USD $49.99 ($39.99 launch discount)
    • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
    • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A fragmentary passage –
    • Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover Movie
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind – $49.99 ($39.99 launch discount)

The Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud collects all of the above titles as a single purchase of USD $89.99 (with a $71.99 launch discount price).

Kingdom Hearts cloud editions go on sale for Nintendo Switch on February 10, 2022. The games are also available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
