Nintendo announced another Direct presentation for August 2025, and this one is focused completely on Kirby Air Riders and its gameplay. This is the new game in the Kirby Air Ride series. It will air at 6am PT/9am ET on August 19, 2025, and it will only focus on the new game.
This comes after Masahiro Sakurai announced we would be seeing more of Kirby Air Riders, as he took to social media on Sora’s 20th anniversary to suggest we’d see gameplay soon and apparently tease this Nintendo Direct. Now that Nintendo confirmed the showcase, he posted again to tease details about it. This time, he shared the Japanese and English social media accounts.
This new Kirby Air Ride game first appeared during the April 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. It’s a racing type of game involving Kirby on stars and other types of vehicles. The first spin-off appeared on the GameCube worldwide. This showcase will last for 45 minutes. Hopefully, we’ll see some Kirby Air Riders gameplay, as the original featured three modes. One of which was City Trial, which involved going around a city to get ready for a race.
The last Nintendo Direct dedicated to a single game featured Donkey Kong Bananza. It’s how we learned Pauline would be DK’s sidekick in the title.
Kirby Air Riders will come to the Switch 2, and the Nintendo Direct dedicated to it will air at 6am PT/9am ET on August 19, 2025.
