Inazuma Eleven 2: The Threat of the Invaders is scheduled for release on October 1. Like fellow CoroCoro Comic series Mega Man Star Force, it’s being split into two games.

Inazuma Eleven 2: The Threat of the Invaders Blizzard and Inazuma Eleven 2: The Threat of the Invaders Fire will be sold for 4,990 yen ($55) a piece. Both games have the alien soccer team and space invaders storyline. The key difference is which team will be your rival. In Fire you face off against Prominence. Blizzard has Enzo’s squad battling Diamond Dust.

Level 5 plans to put over 1,500 (!!) characters to recruit in Inazuma Eleven 2. That number includes familiar faces from the anime series, but it isn’t clear how many of these characters will be exclusive to each game.

They also beefed up online play and added four player support. You can set up 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 1, and 4 vs. CPU matches over Nintendo Wi-Fi.

There hasn’t been any discussion about an international release for Inazuma Eleven so an international release for the sequel seems unlikely right now.
