Level 5 To Hold “Level 5 World” Event In October

Every year, Level 5 hold an event called “Level 5 Vision” in Japan, where they show off their upcoming games. Last year’s event, Vision 2010, saw the reveal of games like Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney and Time Travellers.

Vision 2011, which was scheduled for around this month, however, is no longer taking place in its original form.

Instead, Level 5 will be holding another event, Level 5 World, which will take place in October. Level 5 World will be a two-day event and will encompass the Vision event as well. It will take place on October 15th and 16th in Tokyo, and will a festival-style event that’s free to the public.

Level 5 recently made two major advances as a company. The first is the employment of Yasumi Matsuno, recognized for his work on Vagrant Story and Tactics Ogre. Matsuno intends to retain his style of games at Level 5, even though he’ll be working on smaller projects for the time being.

The second was the publicized opening of the Level 5 International America website, which gave a glimpse into the company’s North American office and was followed up by a Facebook poll asking what Level 5 games fans wanted to see brought out of Japan. This represents Level 5’s first step toward being a North American publisher.

Food for thought:

Did you manage to figure out who all the character silhouettes are? If not, one of the commenters at Hachima Kiko provided a helpful image showing all but one of the characters. The final silhouette is a mystery.
