Lionhead Co-Founder, Peter Molyneux, Departs For Studio 22 Cans

Fable designer and Lionhead Studios co-founder, Peter Molyneux, announced via Twitter today: “I have left the lovely amazing Microsoft and Lionhead. Now for something really amazing, scary and brave a new company called 22 Cans”.

Molyneux co-founded Lionhead in 1997, and the company was acquired by Microsoft in 2006. While Molyneux stated over Twitter that he has already left the company’s employ, he later explained through Kotaku that he will leave once development of Fable: The Journey is complete.

22 Cans is a company founded by Tim Rance, also an ex-Lionhead employee. Rance was the company’s Chief Technical Officer and titles such as Populous, Black & White and the Fable games.
