Lost Odyssey will span 4 DVDs

It's interesting to see how Blue Dragon was the first Xbox 360 game to be more than one DVD; and now, Mistwalker's next RPG goliath, Lost Odyssey, is the next Xbox 360 game to receive the multiple DVD treatment. Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed at TGS how epic Lost Odyssey will be by mentioning the game will span 4 DVDs, most of which will be consumed by CGI and real-time cutscenes. Sakaguchi also mentions the game should last between 40-50 hours, giving those of us who enjoy long hour RPGs a sense of gratification and immersion…if done right anyway.

If that doesn't tickle your fancy enough, then perhaps you'll take comfort in knowing Sakaguchi chose to use English VA as the game's primary VA to thank his English speaking audience for the support they've given him for so many years. The game will still feature multiple languages that include both English and Japanese, so don't be too surprised if you see the Japanese VA not matching the English VA syncing. Yes, that also includes the Japanese version of the game.

It's a shame, though, Lost Odyssey was pushed back to 2008 for the U.S. and Europe. It'll all be worth it in the end right?
