The NPD Group’s sales report for the month of October is in, and reveals that Battlefield 3 was the best-selling game of the month, with just under 2 million copies sold in the U.S. Not far behind it was Batman: Arkham City at over 1.5 million copies sold.
Something to take into account, though, is that digital sales for Battlefield 3 aren’t accounted for here, so a large portion of the game’s PC sales aren’t represented at all. Also representing the first-person shooter genre alongside Battlefield was id Software’s Rage.
Finally, From Software and Namco Bandai are probably pleased by the fact that Dark Souls made an appearance in the top-ten sellers list for last month, too, coming in at #7.
