Just a few days ago, Pokémon GO Fest was held at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, with the event celebrating the one-year anniversary of the super-popular monster-catching mobile game. During this, it was revealed that Lugia would be the first Legendary Pokémon able to be captured.

It was not long after that Articuno was announced to be joining the game immediately alongside Lugia as a result of Team Mystic beating out both Team Valor and Team Instinct in Pokémon GO Fest’s catching competition. The two Legendary Pokémon are now capturable in the game, with the other two birds, Zapdos and Moltres, making “their way into the real world soon,” as revealed by Niantic.

Additionally, thanks to players catching countless amounts of Pokémon during the Fest, the following bonuses will last until 5:00 pm PT today, July 24th.

  • Double Stardust
  • Double Candy
  • Double XP
  • Increased Pokémon encounters
  • Reduced hatching distance
  • Reduced buddy distance

Pokémon GO is available for iOS and Android devices.
