The story unfolds with the standard visual novel-esque presentation you would see in a strategy RPG or even Code of Princess. That’s an apt comparison because Magica Wars: Zanbatsu is a 2.5D action game where you control Amane and cut down monsters. The D-pad moves Amane, square is for attacking, and X is for jump. Completing missions fills up the heart meter and when it’s full you will meet a new magical girl.

Each magical girl has their own personality and you can give them presents to build up your relationship with them.
