This morning, Ubisoft announced Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth, a game for the Wii U and Microsoft’s Kinect. Battle for Earth will be a motion-controlled game, although Ubisoft haven’t announced just how it will be played on the two platforms.

The game will have the classic Avengers—Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and Hulk—fighting of an invasion of genetically-altered Skrulls, but will also have other Marvel characters. Whether or not these characters will be playable hasn’t been announced, but Ubisoft say that Battle for Earth will have over 20 Marvel characters, and will be based on the Secret Invasion comic series.

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec and will be released sometime this fall. “Fans of the Marvel universe and superhero games are going to love the extensive combinations of characters, motion-controlled
moves and competitive gameplay,” said Tony Key, Ubisoft’s U.S. Senior VP of Sales and Marketing.
