Masahiro Sakurai Talks Super Smash Bros. 3DS And Wii U Differences




    Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai discusses differences between the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game, and also discusses some of the characters in a new developer diary video.



    Characters on 3DS version outlined to be easier to see on smaller screen.

    Total number of characters is the same as Wii U version.

    3DS stages will be more based on handheld games


    Wii U:

    Colours leaning more toward primary colours than Super Smash Bros. Brawl


    Samus now based on design from Metroid: Other M rather than Super Metroid

    Perforated metal added to Varia Suit to power her up, visually


    Pit is now the Kid Icarus: Uprising version and has new moves

    Can use Guardian Orbitars


    Villager from Animal Crossing uses various items to fight and use combos

    He can pick up anything, even Samus’ missiles or her Charge Shot and throw back


    Maintaining Mega Man’s NES look was a top priority

    Can use various boss abilities in battle like Hard Knuckle, Metal Blade etc.
