Capcom took to social media to not only confirm its Gamescom 2026 lineup, but also confirm that the new games Mega Man: Dual Override and Onimusha: Way of the Sword will both be playable there. They are two of four titles it will have at the event when it starts on August 26, 2026.
Of the four games, two are entirely new, one is focusing on an upcoming major expansion, and one will look at the existing game and DLC. Street Fighter 6 will be there, of course. It’s possible this could be a chance for us to see some of the Year 4 DLC. That pass starts with Yasmine on August 3, 2026, so it’s possible we could get a look at Arjun ahead of that fighter’s Fall 2026 debut. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the new expansion for the action-RPG, will be on the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 9, 2026, and this will be a chance to see how that add-on will work.
In the case of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, it’s another chance to test it out at the Capcom Gamescom 2026 booth. A demo for that appeared after the June 2026 State of Play. We don’t know if the same trial will be at this event or if it will be one updated based on people’s feedback.
Finally, this Gamescom 2026 demo will be the first extended look at Mega Man: Dual Override. Capcom first announced it at The Game Awards 2025. A brief gameplay teaser showed up there. Since then, we haven’t seen too much of it. However, the developer did announce a boss design contest in December 2025.
Gamescom 2026 will run between August 26-30, 2026, and it will be held at Cologne, Germany’s Koelnmesse as usual.
