Megadimension Neptunia VII first released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in April 2015. It then released in North America and Europe in February 2016, and PC in July 2016. The game introduces a new battle system and a “Next Form” for each goddess. The story consists of three chapters, each with their own dimension, story, and Neptunia-esque title. The game also introduces the Console Patron Unit, Uzume Tennouboshi, aka “Orange Heart.” She’s a CPU like the others, but she fights alone to save the “Zero Dimension. Uzume has a tomboy-like appearance in human form and appears much girlier in her Goddess form.
It didn’t take long for the game to get a remake titled Megadimension Neptunia VIIR. The remake brought some changes to the battle system along with PlayStation VR functions. It also uses the Orochi 4 game engine and Mizuchi rendering engine by Silicon Studio. Megadimension Neptunia VIIR released for the PlayStation 4 in Japan in August 2017 and in North America and Europe in May 2018. The PC version released worldwide in October 2018.
If Megadimension Neptunia VII does end up getting a Nintendo Switch release, it would be interesting to see what changes they bring, if any, for the system.
