You will be able to play these games without having to switch to Wii mode on the Wii U. Some of these games will also be compatible with the Wii U GamePad, president Satoru Iwata said.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be available today. Meanwhile, Punch-Out!! will be available on January 22nd and Metroid Prime Trilogy on January 29th. At launch, all three games will be available at half price for a week.
