Monster Hunter Diary Poka Poka Felyne Village is a bona fide hit for Capcom. The PSP spin-off shipped 500,000 copies in Japan less than a month after its launch on August 26th. Like its mobile phone sibling, it’s safe to call Monster Hunter Diary a success.

Capcom are more proud of another achievement, however. 50% of Monster Hunter Diary players are female. Capcom call this feat “unprecedented for a Capcom game.”

Beginner-friendly gameplay and the pleasant Feylne world are attributed to expanding the series to another group.

For core Monster Hunter fans, Monster Hunter Diary Poka Poka Felyne Village gives players access to extra items in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which comes out in Japan on December 1st.
