Indie developer Minicore Studios are working on a murder mystery game that involves multiple players playing together, the studio announced this morning. Titled Murder at Mystery Manor, the project is described as a “party/mystery/investigation game”.
Murder at Mystery Manor takes place at a mansion, with nefarious acts taking place during a cocktail party. Each player is designated a role, one of them being that of the murderer. The murderer’s job is to off his target without being seeing by anyone. Meanwhile, the other players are tasked with finding out who the culprit is.
Minicore say that you’ll need to gather evidence and communicate with one another in order to solve the crime. “Carelessness,” they say, “may make you a bad investigator”.
“This is the kind of game perfect for an Early Access/open alpha-type situation,” Minicore write on their blog. “The art style is colorful and bright and low-poly 3D. Which perspective works best is still being debated in the office. The communication system is going to be very fun, but we’ll give more details on that in the coming weeks.”
Murder at Mystery Manor is being built using Unity, but the game has only been announced for PC at the moment. Minicore hope to make an alpha build of the game available this Summer.
