Namco Bandai’s Next Project Is… God Eater?

There’s another Namco Bandai trademark in Japan we’re aware of at Siliconera, it’s for something called God Eater. The trademark was registered for use with video games, but since the potential game hasn’t been announced we can’t even confirm any other details. Interestingly, Namco Bandai also registered Kami wo Raukuraumono which can translate into something like God Eater on the same day.

It’s been awhile since .hack, but I remember one of the games had a God Eater monster. Could this be related? Connecting a monster to a trademark is a very distant stretch so I wouldn’t get my hopes up about a new .hack game or anything based on this. However, Namco Bandai seems to be thinking global with God Eater since it seems like they registered a Japanese name and an English name for the same thing.
