D3 Publisher and Tomy announced they are planning to release the first Naruto RPG game in North America this fall. Tentatively titled Naruto: Path of the Ninja, it is a typical RPG based in the Naruto world with time based battles. Players will be able to use jutsus instead of magic and choose from six characters to join their party. Also it sounds like Naruto: Path of the Ninja isn’t going to be a localized version of the other three Naruto RPG games out in Japan.
“We are really looking forward to bringing NARUTO: Path of the Ninja to North America,” said Careen Yapp, vice president of licensing and business development, D3PA. “Some of the best elements from all the Japanese NARUTO RPG releases will be utilized to create an exclusive and unique game that no one has ever seen!”
You can see some mock screenshots of the work in progress past the break.
Update: Just got an e-mail back with some extra details on Naruto: Path of the Ninja. Tomy is going to pull from the Game Boy Advance Naruto RPG and all the DS Naruto RPGs to date to make Naruto: Path of the Ninja, which is going to be completely new for North America.
