New content is added to both games in Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, and Square Enix’s latest reveals go over new storylines like the ones involving the goddess Rubiss and fairies. These are integrated into the story alongside new dungeons and enemies, so we’ll encounter them as we go through the JRPG as usual. This includes some details about new NPC characters Rubiss and Dream-Whisperer.
As part of the one segment, we’ll need to work with the fairies to get the goddess Rubiss to return in Dragon Quest I HD-2D. Dream-Whisperer can reach her. However, Dream-Whisperer also is unavailable. This means we need to work alongside the fairies to earn their trust to find their leader so we can then find the goddess. Square Enix also confirmed that Yuriri Naka plays the Dream-Whisperer, while Kelly Hotten is Rubiss.
When it comes to the other new situations found in Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake, a handful were described. In some cases, we’ll need to actually save towns from monsters. Dwarves will show up in a new cave. We’ll need to help with an epidemic and finding a cure with a mage. There are also hints as to problems in Tantegel, which is present in the first three games in the series.
There are also an array of new screenshots from Dragon Quest I and II HD-2D Remake showing the new additions to the first game. You can see those below:
