A new line of keychains based on various popular Sanrio characters will soon be available in Japan as capsule toys. There will be six keychain toys as part of this new batch of Sanrio merchandise, and they will release on August 13, 2026. [Thanks, PR Times!]
The Sanrio characters that will be available in the new keychain capsule toys are Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Pochacco, Pekkle, and Tuxedo Sam. The keychains feature the face of each character in tortoiseshell-style acrylic, adorned with faux pearls and tassels. In addition to keychains, these can be attached to everyday items like handbags or pouches.
The keychains will release exclusively via the cashless Cap Evo machines available at the Molly Fantasy and Toys Spot Palo outlets, as well as other amusement centers throughout Japan. The machines accept payment via its touch panel or QR code payment only. People can spend 673 yen (or about $4.23) to pull a random keychain.
