A day after the Rin Tohsaka “Keeping Up with Star Rail” video, HoYoVerse shared a Honkai: Star Rail trailer showing gameplay for the Fate/stay Night Unlimited Blade Works Servant Gilgamesh. He’s the free unit we get the option to claim once the new crossover event starts on July 24, 2026. He’s a Destruction character focused on dealing Lightning damage to opponents.

Gilgamesh’s standard attack in Honkai: Star Rail is called Halfhearted Blow. It only hits one enemy and deals Lightning damage when that happens. His Gate of Babylon Skill deals Lightning damage to one opponent and splash damage to foes around it. That also gives him a temporary King’s Acknowledgement buff that lets him ignore enemy defenses with any attacks. His Enuma Elish Ultimate deals AOE lightning damage to everyone, followed by random additional hits. That attack can be boosted by his Amuse Me to the Fullest Talent that increases his damage when other characters in the party use their Ultimates. That skill can also lock him into an Interest Piqued state if he gets “Interest” when allies attack and force him to use his Skill.

Like Rin, Gilgamesh can team up with fellow Fate/stay Night character in Honkai: Star Rail for Joint Follow-Up Attacks if they are both in the same party. HoYoVerse noted this is tied to his I Grant You Permission to Strike Talent. The number of Attack Tallies determines if they’ll attack all enemies together, then gain Interest for him and Energy for her.

Here’s the full “Gilgamesh: Your Joy Brings Me Joy” Honkai: Star Rail gameplay trailer.

Honkai: Star Rail is on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Fate/stay Night Holy Grail War Sequel crossover event starts on July 24, 2026.
