The next Mario & Sonic Olympics game is in development for Wii U and takes place in Russia. The game will use the Wii Remote Plus controller and features events such as figure skating in addition to returning events such as snowboarding.

In other events such as the Biathalon, a combination of skiing and shooting, the player is required to switch between the Wii Remote and the Wii U GamePad controllers.

Nintendo did not provide a release date for the game or its title.
