At gamescom 2025, Activision Blizzard and Atlus announced a Persona 5 crossover for Overwatch 2, which seems like it will involve character skins from the series. It came up at the end of the Season 18 teaser trailer. Only the last few seconds highlighted it with a character dressed as Joker.

Here’s the full announcement trailer. It almost looks like it could be Cassidy dressed as Joker, just with his hat off. However, the person’s identity is uncertain for now.

The video also went over some additional updates to the game. The Stadium will feature Payload Road as a mode, and Quick Play will make it easier to get into matches with its faster features. We’ll get a Draft Mode before matches to help with selecting characters.  Wuyang will debut as a Support Hero in this next patch too.

Here’s the dedicated Wuyang trailer that also appeared today.

This Persona 5 event marks the second video game crossover in Overwatch 2 in the last few months. Back in May 2025, Activision Blizzard and Capcom confirmed Street Fighterskins and cosmetics would come to the game. That involved a number of major characters like Chun-Li, Cammy, Ryu, Guile, Juri, and Zangief. Though, given how many Gundam games there are, the Gundam Wingcrossover in April 2025 could also count in a way.

Overwatch 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Persona 5 crossoverevent starts in September 2025. Persona 5 is on the PS3 and PS4, and Persona 5 Royal is on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
