Nintendo announced that the Switch and Switch Lite systems sold a combined total of over 830,000 units in the U.S. over Thanksgiving week.
The 830,000 units sold in the week ranks it as the best week of U.S. sales in Nintendo Switch history. The sales were bolstered partly by the recently released Nintendo Switch Lite system and Black Friday sales.
Total sales of Switch consoles in the Americas now sits at 17.5 million units.
Here’s a quote from Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing:
“Holiday shoppers see the value of Nintendo Switch, which offers a vast library of games for every type of player. Whether shopping for the ideal gift or picking one up for yourself, the Nintendo Switch family of systems provides options that fit every play style.”
Additionally, Nintendo shared some extra sales figures and milestones. Pokemon Sword and Shield combined for 3 million units sold in the Americas thus far. Other sales figures from the Americas include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 8.5 million, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at 8 million, Super Mario Odyssey at 6.5 million, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe at 1.5 million.
The Nintendo Switch released worldwide in March 2017. Worldwide sales currently sit at 41.67 million units. Furthermore, the Switch has sold 10 million units in Japan as of November 3, 2019.
