Nippon Ichi Software switching gears, beginning to develop for Nintendo platforms

RPGFan spotted a report on FujiSankei Business I that Nippon Ichi Software will begin to develop games for the Wii and the Nintendo DS. The first Nintendo DS title is slated for this fiscal year (read: March 2008) and it will only be released in North America. Nippon Ichi plans to continue making strategy RPG games and their shift to Nintendo consoles seems like a good sign that one of their major franchises (Disgaea?) will be coming over to the Nintendo DS in the future.

There are seven titles currently scheduled for this fiscal term in North America and we know about the majority of them: Soul Cradle, Disgaea PSP, Aedis Eclipse, Grim Grimoire, Dragoneer’s Aria and Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm. So that leaves one mystery game within this fiscal term and it is the Nintendo DS title. It’s probably not Disgaea since it is for the US and since NIS America has a strong relationship with Gust I’m betting it is Lise no Atelier: Ordre no Renkinjutsushi.
