Koei Tecmo have announced a release date for Bladestorm: Nightmare. The game will be available in North America on March 3rd and in Europe on March 6th.
Bladestorm: Nightmare is a strategy game where you take on the role of a mercenary and fight for either England or France in missions that are inspired by battles of the era from 1337 to 1453, dubbed ‘the Hundred Years War’.
The game is developed by Omega Force, the studio behind the Warriors series, and has two primary modes—a historically accurate account of the 100 Years’ War, and a fictional scenario that takes place in the same world. The latter mode, called “Nightmare,” has a horde of outlandish creatures that appear to be led by a form of Joan of Arc appearing during the war between England and France.
This army comprises of dragons, giants and demons, and forces the two countries to put their differences aside momentarily, in order to combat the new threat. Nightmare mode allows for control of an additional 32 playable characters.
Bladestorm: Nightmare is headed to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $59.99 at retail. A PS3 version will be available digitally for $49.99.
