Capcom announced that the Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo is now larger at gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live alongside a new trailer for the title. The reveal didn’t explain exactly how much more will be available in the trial or how much longer it will be. However, it did tease two enemies that it looks like we’ll face after updating it.

This demo first appeared after the State of Play in June 2026. The new trailer is a rather brief one. It’s only about 30 seconds long and explains Miyamoto Musashi will get to go to a new place and face Ifuu and Burai. That fight seems to come up around the 20 second mark of the video below.

If you’re unsure if your computer can handle the new Onimusha game, there’s a way to check. A benchmark tool is available. That’s available for free, so you can see how well it will work or if you should consider a console version instead.

The Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo got updated ahead of the game’s September 4, 2026 release. We will see it on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
