Ooblets Early Access Coming to Epic Games Store and Xbox One This Summer

Glumberland is about to unleash Ooblets to players who have been eager to dive into this adorable world of genre mashups. As announced during the PC Gaming Show, Ooblets early access will be arriving on both the Epic Games Store and the Xbox One via the Game Preview program sometime this summer. We don’t have an actual date yet, but we do have a “pinky swear” from a press release.

Anyway, you can check out the latest trailer here in case you weren’t watching the PC Gaming Show stream:

Ooblets is staking its identity of a three-pronged genre blend, combining farming, town life sim, and monster collecting. But instead of Pokemon-like combat, players will pit their Ooblets against each other in dance-off competitions. As you explore Badgetown, you’ll raise and sell crops, participate in Ooblet dance-offs and tournaments, make friends in town, earn badges from daily events, and a lot more.

Ooblets already has a listing on the Epic Games Store, where you can add it to your wishlist, check out details, and peep the system requirements. There’s no cost or release date yet, but don’t forget this is an early access release. As the store listing states, “you’ll have to put up with a bunch of bugs and unfinished things.”

Lucas writes about video games a lot and is a former Siliconera editor. Sometimes he plays them. Every now and then he enjoys one. To get on his good side, say nice things about Dragon Quest and Musou. Never mention the Devil May Cry reboot in his presence. Backed Bloodstained on Kickstarter but all his opinions on it are correct regardless.
