Persona 4: Golden has shipped over 700,000 copies worldwide—including download sales—Index announced this morning. Additionally, Index shared, the game won the User’s Choice award at the PlayStation Awards for the second year in a row.

In celebration of the achievement, Atlus will be discounting the game on PlayStation Network in Japan. From December 11th to January 8th, the games price will be lowered from 5,980 yen to 4,980 yen.

Persona has seen a large growth spurt in recent years, owing to Atlus’ marketing activities around the brand. The company has spearheaded anime adaptations of the games, numerous concerts, live stage plays and more. The next numbered game in the series, Persona 5, is slated for release in winter 2014.
