We might actually and finally see a HoYoVerse game on a Nintendo console, as the company said it will bring its Animal Crossing-like Petit Planet to the Switch 2. It will show up in 2027. There are no further details, but the Pre-Launch Special Program archive is now live on YouTube and a console trailer is on social media.

Here’s the first trailer for the Switch 2 version of Petit Planet. It shows a group of people playing the game in Handheld Mode on their systems together. When one person puts it in the dock, we get a better look at it on the system and the photo mode.

As a reminder, we will see the game on other platforms sooner. HoYoVerse confirmed it will be on the PC, Android, and iOS devices starting on December 4, 2026. Pre-registration is already live for those versions, and we know what sorts of events and activities will be there at launch. There’s also a dedicated trailer for the launch rewards for the game.

This is the second time a HoYoVerse game ended up announced for a Nintendo system, but we’ve yet to see it show up on any consoles from the company. In the past, a Genshin Impact Switch port was announced back in January 2020. The company then pretty much stopped addressing it. Even when the website for that version became temporarily unavailable in March 2024.

Petit Planet will come to the Switch 2 in 2027, following a PC and Android and iOS mobile debut on December 4, 2026.
