In February 2021, Sega announced that the closed beta application period would be extended to March 2021. The application period was extended to allow for more users to participate in the second closed beta test. Additionally, the second beta test will allow consumers on lower end PCs to participate. The dates of the second closed beta test have not been released.

The official Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis blog recently revealed more information about the Personal Shop. This feature will function similarly to a market board. The developer’s goals are to help circumvent real money transactions in the game through this feature.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will release for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2021.
