Sony are releasing a 3.00 firmware update for the PlayStation Vita to prepare the device for its companion role to the upcoming PlayStation 4. The update will introduce a new application called PS4 Link, which will allow the two consoles to connect for Remote Play and second screen functionality.

Also included in the 3.00 update are other adjustments, such as the addition of the Parental Controls application to the home screen, an adjusted layout for Friends, the ability to use Wi-Fi to connect your PS3 and Vita to transfer data, and more.
