Pokémon Black/White 2 add a new feature to the series, dubbed “Join Avenue”. This is another feature that encourages communication with other Pokémon players. As you connect to other players through local wireless or over the Internet, they begin to populate your Join Avenue area and open up shops. These shops sell rare items, such as one that allows you to hatch an egg faster.
Another feature is “Fes Missions”. These are missions with different kinds of objectives, similar to the Entralink in Black/White, and can have up to 100 players playing them at the same time over the Internet.
The Pokémon Company also reintroduced another Gym leader this week—Elesa, who will return from Black/White. She’s undergone a bit of a change, and her gym in Nimbasa City now has the appearance of some sort of stage show (see image below).
As far as version-exclusive features go, Black City and White Forest both return in Pokémon Black/White 2, and both games have their own exclusive cave area, too—Black 2 has a cave with water while White 2 has one with lava. Also, Black 2 includes Magby and Buneary as exclusive Pokémon, while White 2 has Skitty and Elekid.
Finally, we have a bunch of new screenshots from Black/White 2 as well. Take a look at them below:
Pokémon Black/White 2 will be released in Japan on June 23rd. North America and Europe will see the games sometime this fall.
