More People Are Able To Test Pokémon GO’s Nearby Feature

Months after Pokémon GO’s launch, a take on a tracking system is coming to the game again. Niantic is increasing the testing range of the Nearby feature. This allows people to look under sightings and, if a PokéStop is near your current location, know which Pokémon are in the vicinity of that PokéStop.

Pokémon GO’s Nearby feature was originally being tested in San Francisco, CA. The new Nearby and updated Sightings features testing range has now been extended to the following areas.

  • United States of America: All states west of the Mississippi River (except Hawaii and Alaska).

  • Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario.

  • Australia: All states and territories.

Pokémon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. Remember when catching this weekend that a double Stardust and XP event is in effect until 0:00 UTC on November 30, 2016 and Ditto is now in the game, masquerading as other Pokémon.
