Pokémon Sword & Shield Shows A Brand-New Galar Region Town In Latest Trailer

Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, and Game Freak shared a special video for Pokémon Sword & Shield at Gamescom 2019. While the developers couldn’t attend the event this year, they wanted to share a previously unseen town in the Galar region.

Director Shigeru Ohmori introduces us to the new town, home to the Pokémon Research Lab where Professor Magnolia researches the Dynamax phenomenon. There’s also a railway station in the town. The Pokémon Center looks different from what we’re used to seeing but they were made in a way that fans of the series will instantly recognize.

Pokémon Sword & Shield releases for Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019. Check our previous report for a look at some battle stadium action.
